Animal Relief Foundation – Aruba (ARF-Aruba) is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit.
100% of donated funds go directly to furthering the ARF-Aruba mission and are tax-deductible in the United States. We provide veterinary care, food, shelter, and in best cases a forever home to help these animals. We also try to spay/neuter as many dogs and cats as possible to humanely control their population.
There are several easy ways you can make a difference in the lives of the animals of Aruba.

MacGyver is our miracle dog that was rescued from Aruba’s streets about 3 years ago, with 2 broken legs on the same side of his body after being hit by a car. Surgeries to repair his broken legs were unsuccessful, thus causing him to lose his left rear leg. At the moment, his left front leg is the focus of attempts to save it from amputation. Our sweet MacGyver now lives at Iguana Dog Resort on the island, which is possibly where he may spend the rest of his life. He receives such excellent care there, and he is so loved by his care takers.
MacGyver is a fearless boy that doesn’t focus on what is missing. He focuses on tail wags, doggie smiles, and doggie licks. In the meantime, teamwork abounds as a solution is sought to save at least part of his left front leg. His pain is managed with expensive meds as veterinarians discuss how to proceed in an effort to provide MacGyver with a prosthesis.

A prosthetic device from a company in the U.S. will give this beautiful boy with the will to live a second chance. A surgical pack from the U.S. has been ordered, which should save his leg to avoid amputation.
We are still in the fundraising stage with a goal of about $6,000. We can’t be more specific because we are having a problem finding a place on the island to do the blood processing – PRP. The process can cost anywhere from $500 to $2,000. This is not only sticker shock, but finding a lab on the island that will work with dog blood is the challenge.
We also need to build some type of tank with a treadmill in it for the water therapy that MacGyver will need. This is where we are in the scheme of things for our beautiful boy!
We appreciate all the support MacGyver has received to date from concerned citizens. ARF-Aruba works completely through volunteer efforts, and with donated funds.
ARF-Aruba welcomes and appreciates your financial support. Donations for MacGyver’s medical expenses can be via any of the methods listed above.
